Do you work with a Makeup Artist?

Yes! I partner with one of the best. Lauren Murphy with Murphy's Beauty Law is my go-to girl! She even applied mine and my girls makeup for my wedding day! www.murphysbeautylaw.com

The Basics

Do I need to book a hair trial?

Absolutely! Trial appointments are required for the Bride when booking. It is the time where I get to know you, you get to know me, & your beauty expectations are discussed. All very important things! It is essential for me to get to know your personal style and beauty preferences. During this appointment, I work to develop a relationship where everyone, especially you, can be honest. This enables me to do my best to help you to achieve your ideal look, within realistic expectations of your hair type, but also a look that you love!

When should I schedule my hair trial?

Trials are generally scheduled during the week on Mondays & Fridays. Weekend availability is very limited due to on-site weddings and events booked. I always recommend allotting a minimum of 90 minutes for your trial appointment, this way we can ensure the end look is perfected and questions and/or concerns can be addressed. I do recommend booking your trial the same day as your makeup trial and/or if possible on the same day as a dress fitting. This will give you the best visual of how you will look on your wedding day!

How close to the wedding day should I have my trial scheduled?

Some brides prefer to do their preview appointment as soon as possible so they can get started on their wedding to do list; I do recommend within 1-3 months prior to the wedding date because at that point, your hair will be the most similar in length, texture and color as it will be on the wedding day.

Can I have a hair trial before booking?

Absolutely! You should be aware, that appointments do book up quite far in advance, especially during the height of wedding season. It is unlikely that a trial appointment will be available immediately so you would run the risk of loosing out on your date in the meantime. A wedding date is not held without a contract and retainer; even with a booked trial date.

What should I have at my trial and how should I prep my hair?

Have any accessories you may want to wear including your veil, earrings, hair accessories etc. Wear a similar style/color shirt that matches your dress to have a better visual of the wedding day look. Please have your hair freshly clean within 24 hours of the scheduled trial & 100% dry. There is no need to do any type of excessive styling, I'll take care of that for you!

Can I schedule my hair trial the same day as my shower or engagement photos?

You definitely are welcome to but then there would be no surprise of your wedding day hairstyle! What fun is that!? I don't always recommend scheduling them on those important dates for these reasons: - If your trial takes longer than expected for extra details, questions etc, you run the risk of being late for your shower/photos. - Looking too "glammed up" at your shower. The hair is meant to match your wedding dress, not your shower attire. - You'll have the same hairstyle in your engagement photos that you will on your wedding day. - Your fiance will see your wedding day hairstyle during your engagement photos!

Destination Weddings

Do you travel outside the Chicago/Suburbs area?

Of course! I love styling for destination weddings and would love to have the opportunity to work more of them! Wisconsin & Michigan weddings are booked frequently! One thing to consider; the logistics for these events can be more complex. That being said, I do ask that you send an email with as much information and details regarding your destination wedding as you currently have, and we will work together to make a plan! In addition to destination service minimum, I do require travel/hotel/airfare accommodations for any wedding over 100 miles OR 1.5 hours from 60118.
